Pete Maravich Stats ~ 44.2 NCAA College Basketball Points Per Game

Pistol Pete Maravich
Not before or after Pistol Pete Maravich, has anyone in NCAA College Basketball ever come close to matching Pete’s staggering 44.2 points per game average amassed during his three seasons with the LSU Tigers. Keep in mind that Pete Maravich played for LSU in 1968-1970 which was well before the NCAA’s nationally adopted 19’ 9” three point shot. Some experts have estimated that if the 3 point rule had been in effect, Pete’s per game average would have been in the mid 50’s range.

Pete Maravich also holds the title as the NCAA Division I College Basketball leading scorer with 3,667 career points in just three seasons. NCAA Division II goes to Travis Grant of Kentucky State with 4,045 career points who also had a 33.4 points per game average. The NAIA School record goes to John Pierce who amassed 4,230 points in his career at David Lipscomb University.
